About Patricia

I'm from the Midwest and graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in Education. Three of my college years were spent in Fashion Merchandising. I found fashion and style to be my true passion.

Twelve years later, a bout with cancer and being a new mom made me look in the mirror one day and realize that I didn't know who I was. I had no sense of myself and I had no style of my own. In essence I had lost the real me. I decided that life is short and I needed to find a path that filled me up again. I realized that if I dressed better, true to myself and my own style, I would feel better. And it's true.

I quit my job of managing a downtown daycare and preschool and started searching for what my next career path would be. I kept thinking that I would find it outside of myself. Funny thing, it turns out that the more I found myself, the more I found that I was already doing what I loved, which was helping people find themselves in their sense of style. Once when I was cleaning out a closet, someone joked, "you've rescued me from my closet" and Closet Rescue was born.

My business Inside/Out Style is all about helping people look their best and be themselves. I believe that fashion and finding your sense of style should be a fun (and funny!), easy and lighthearted journey. I love fashion, I love style and I love to shop. However, none of that even matters if you don't truly know who you are along the way. I believe that everyone should have a closet full of clothes that they love. To get to that place, you have to be able to transform your look from the inside out.
